Ash-Shakur — The Most Appreciative

Ash-Shakur is the One who appreciates and rewards even the smallest good, multiplying it far beyond what it deserves. The name is striking because gratitude normally flows from the one who receives to the one who gives — yet Allah, who needs nothing, calls Himself grateful toward His servants. Classical scholars explain that His shukr is His acceptance of a little and His giving much in return. The Quran attaches it to forgiveness in 35:30, so what is accepted is rewarded and what is deficient is covered.
