Terms of Service

Living Quran is a Quran companion app: you can read the Quran in Arabic with an English translation, see prayer times calculated for your location, track fasting, and converse with Noor, an AI-powered study companion.

• You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
• Provide accurate information when signing up.
• You must be able to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, or use the service with a parent or guardian’s consent.

Living Quran is a place of study and reflection. You agree not to:

• Use the service to generate, store, or distribute content that is unlawful, hateful, or harassing.
• Attempt to bypass safety measures, probe, or disrupt the service or its AI systems.
• Scrape the service or resell access to it without our written permission.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

• Noor is an AI study companion — not a mufti, imam, or scholar.
• Noor’s responses are not fatwas or religious rulings, and must not be treated as such.
• AI-generated content can be incomplete or incorrect. Always verify important matters against the Quran itself and consult qualified scholars or your local imam for religious guidance.
• We accept no responsibility for decisions made in reliance on AI-generated responses.

Living Quran is currently free to use, with no subscriptions and no ads. Fair-use limits (such as a daily number of AI messages) may apply to keep the service sustainable. If we introduce optional paid plans in the future, we will announce them clearly — nothing will be charged without your explicit consent, and reading the Quran will always remain free.

• The app, its design, and its software are owned by tzif.io or its licensors.
• The Arabic Quran text (Uthmani, via Tanzil.net) and the Pickthall English translation (1930) are both in the public domain.
• You retain ownership of the content you write. You grant us the limited license needed to store and display it back to you and to operate the service.

• You may delete your account at any time from your settings; your personal data will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
• We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that prayer times, calendar dates, or AI responses are error-free — see the FAQ for how calculations work and why they can differ from your mosque.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, tzif.io shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, while the service is free, is zero) or the minimum amount required by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
