Al-Hamid — The Praiseworthy
Al-Hamid is the One deserving of all praise, whether or not anyone offers it — His praiseworthiness is intrinsic, not granted by praisers. The name covers both directions: He is praised, and He is worthy of praise for what He is as much as for what He gives. The Quran pairs it with Al-Ghani in 2:267 — Free of need, Praiseworthy — which classical scholars read as the point: He needs nothing from those who praise Him. Every alhamdulillah is an acknowledgement of this name.
