Al-Majid — The All-Glorious
Al-Majid is the One of perfect glory — majesty joined to generosity, greatness that is also abundantly good. Classical scholars explain majd as combining honour, nobility, and expansive giving, so the name refuses to separate grandeur from kindness. The angels say to Ibrahim's household that Allah is Praiseworthy and Glorious (11:73), naming both at a moment of mercy. The Quran applies the same root to the Quran itself, calling it majid (50:1).

They said: Wonderest thou at the commandment of Allah? The mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, O people of the house! Lo! He is Owner of Praise, Owner of Glory
