Al-Muhyi — The Giver of Life

Al-Muhyi is the One who gives life — to the body at its beginning, to the earth after its barrenness, and to the dead at the resurrection. The Quran repeatedly points to rain reviving dead ground as the visible proof of the invisible promise: the One who does this is the giver of life to the dead (30:50). Classical scholars extend the name to the heart, since the Quran describes guidance itself as being brought to life (6:122). It is paired with Al-Mumit.
