Al-Muntaqim — The Avenger

Al-Muntaqim is the One who exacts retribution from the guilty who persist without repenting. Classical scholars read the name strictly alongside His forbearance and mercy: retribution comes after long delay, warning, and every opportunity to return, which is why the Quran attaches it to those who turn away after being reminded (32:22). The name reaches us through the enumeration, and the Quran expresses the attribute in verbal form rather than as a title. It is justice, not temper.
