At-Tawwab — The Accepter of Repentance

At-Tawwab is the One who accepts repentance again and again, however often a servant returns. The root tawba means to turn back, and the Quran uses it of both parties: the servant turns to Allah, and Allah turns to him in acceptance — often turning to him first so that he can repent at all (9:118). The intensive form means the acceptance is not exhausted by repetition. Adam received words from his Lord and was forgiven, for He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful (2:37).
