An-Nafi' — The Creator of Good

An-Nafi' is the One from whom all benefit comes, the counterpart of Ad-Darr. Together the two names remove every intermediary from a believer's fear and hope: no one can benefit or harm him except by Allah's leave. Classical scholars read the pair as the practical core of tawakkul, since it dissolves the anxiety of trying to manage other people's power over you. The name comes through the enumeration, while the Quran states the action throughout (e.g. 10:107).
