As-Sabur — The Most Patient

As-Sabur is the One who is patient beyond all measure, who does not hasten to punish and is not provoked into acting before the appointed time. Classical scholars distinguish it from Al-Halim by nuance: Al-Halim withholds punishment out of forbearance toward the offender, As-Sabur names the patience itself, unhurried and unshaken. The name closes the enumeration and reaches us through it rather than as a Quranic title. A hadith notes that no one is more patient with harm he hears than Allah (Bukhari 6099).
