ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ
The Calamity
101:1مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ
What is the Calamity
101:2وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ
Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is
101:3يَوۡمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلۡفَرَاشِ ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ
A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths
101:4وَتَكُونُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ ٱلۡمَنفُوشِ
And the mountains will become as carded wool
101:5فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
Then, as for him whose scales are heavy (with good works)
101:6فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ
He will live a pleasant life
101:7وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
But as for him whose scales are light
101:8فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٞ
A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother
101:9وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهۡ
Ah, what will convey unto thee what she is
101:10نَارٌ حَامِيَةُۢ
