Verses
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
By the heaven and the Morning Star
86:1وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is
86:2ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
The piercing Star
86:3إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ
No human soul but hath a guardian over it
86:4فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
So let man consider from what he is created
86:5خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٖ دَافِقٖ
He is created from a gushing fluid
86:6يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
That issued from between the loins and ribs
86:7إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٞ
Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life)
86:8يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out
86:9فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٖ وَلَا نَاصِرٖ
Then will he have no might nor any helper
86:10وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ
By the heaven which giveth the returning rain
86:11وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ
And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants)
86:12إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ
Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word
86:13وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ
It is no pleasantry
86:14إِنَّهُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗا
Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad)
86:15وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدٗا
And I plot a plot (against them)
86:16فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا
So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while
86:17
