Al-Ahad — The Indivisible One
Al-Ahad is the Unique One who cannot be divided, compounded, or numbered alongside anything. Classical scholars distinguish it from Al-Wahid with care: Al-Wahid denies any partner or equal, while Al-Ahad denies any internal composition — He is not made of parts. The name opens Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1), the surah the Prophet ﷺ said equals a third of the Quran, and the surah then denies that He begets, is begotten, or has any comparable. It is oneness of a kind nothing created shares.
