Al-Mu'izz — The Giver of Honour

Al-Mu'izz is the One who grants honour and strength to whom He wills. The Quran states the action directly in 3:26 — 'You honour whom You will and You humble whom You will' — though the name itself comes to us through the enumeration rather than as a Quranic title. Classical scholars draw the practical point out of it: honour is not manufactured by wealth, lineage, or office, since all of those can be taken away, and what Allah has not honoured cannot be honoured by anyone else.
