Al-Muqsit — The Equitable

Al-Muqsit is the One who acts with perfect equity, giving every party exactly its due and restoring what was taken. Classical scholars note the form: qasata is to act unjustly, aqsata is to act with justice — the name is built on the pattern that undoes wrong. It reaches us through the enumeration, while the Quran states that Allah loves those who act equitably (49:9). It adds to Al-'Adl the sense of setting right what injustice disturbed.
