Al-Qawiyy — The All-Strong

Al-Qawiyy is the One of complete strength, which never diminishes and is never met by an equal. Human strength is relative and temporary; His is absolute and does not tire. The Quran pairs it with Al-'Aziz in 22:40, promising help to those who support His cause and naming the One who helps as Strong, Mighty. Classical scholars note the name is a comfort to the weak rather than a threat: the strength being described is on the side of the oppressed.

Surah Al-Hajj 22:40

Those who have been driven from their homes unjustly only because they said: Our Lord is Allah - For had it not been for Allah's repelling some men by means of others, cloisters and churches and oratories and mosques, wherein the name of Allah is oft mentioned, would assuredly have been pulled down. Verily Allah helpeth one who helpeth Him. Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty
