As-Sami' — The All-Hearing
As-Sami' is the One who hears everything — the spoken word and the unspoken one, the loudest voice and the faintest, all at once and without confusion. His hearing is not a faculty He uses but an attribute He has always had, and it does not depend on sound reaching Him. The Quran ties it to answering: Ibrahim, having built the Ka'bah, ends his du'a by naming Allah the Hearing, the Knowing (2:127). Classical scholars note the pairing — hearing without knowing would be incomplete.

And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House, (Abraham prayed): Our Lord! Accept from us (this duty). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower
